LAHORE: Police claimed arresting seven persons accused of aerial firing and encountering police, recovering heavy amount of arms from their possession, Geo news reported Thursday.

According to police sources, the incident took place when on information of firing, police arrived in Bagh Pur area and tried to intercept accusers but they opened fire at police, which police retaliated and arrested them on charges of aerial firing and encountering police personnel.

The recovered arms were unlicensed, which included seven rifles, two pistols and several bullet rounds, meanwhile, the case under terrorism and police encounter acts has been registered against them, sources said.

Arrested accused persons dispelled involvement in police encounter, saying they were on way to attend a marriage ceremony when arrested, sources told Geo news.
