Peshawar: terror bid foiled, 7 landmines recovered

PESHAWAR: Police have foiled terror bid here recovering seven landmines from the Pushtakhra area of Peshawar Sunday.According to Police landmines were recovered nearby a police check-post and under the Pukhtay Bridge.
Police said in fear of being apprehended the saboteurs hid the landmines under the bridge.
It may be mentioned that Peshawar International Airport limits also begin a few meter ahead of the bridge.
Meanwhile, Bomb Disposable Squad has diffused the landmines, each weighing about seven pounds.
A single landmine could easily destroy a big vehicle, the Squad added.
