SC adjourns hearing of sugar prices case till Oct 29
A full bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case. Federal finance secretary informed the court that sugar prices issue is under consideration under the supervision of prime minister. An effective procedure will be chalk out for sugar prices after consultations therefore hearing should be adjourned.
In his remarks, chief justice directed that sugar should be provided at Rs.40/kg to domestic consumer. If government will not take final decision, we will give the verdict on merit.
