Turkish PM to visit Pakistan from Oct 24

ISLAMABAD: Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will pay a three day official visit to Pakistan from October 24 and discuss with Pakistani leaders measures to further strengthen security, economic and trade relations

The two countries that already have a regular strategic dialogue will further intensify the process of coordination, consultation and cooperation on regional and global issues, during the talks.

The Turkish Prime Minister during his stay will meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, besides addressing joint sitting of the Parliament, a Foreign Office source said.

The Turkish Prime Minister will lead a high powered delegation of CEOs of Turkish Companies that are likely to finalise a number of MoUs to expedite trade and economic relations between the two countries.

The Board of Investment (BoI) is hectically arranging meetings between the visiting Turkish business and industry heads and local entrepreneurs to boost bilateral trade relations with an objective of significantly enhancing the current two way trade of US 800 million dollars.

Pakistan attaches great importance to its cordial ties with Turkey and the two countries will endeavour to expand mutual cooperation in multidimensional fields.

The two countries have vast scope in expanding ties in agriculture, minerals, manufacturing, education, food processing, energy and infrastructure development.
