ISLAMABAD: After the Supreme Court (SC) suspended the notification issued from president regarding the appointment of judges; Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani called his party member and law expert Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan by phone.

Two leaders discussed the situation triggered after the suspension of notification during telephonic conversation in the wee hours on Saturday, Geo news reported.

Premier Gilani told Aitzaz that President had sought through consultation before issuance of the notification of judges’ appointment, keeping in view the seniority of judges.

He said the appointment was issued as per the provisions of constitution.

Meanwhile, the law experts dubbed the issuance of notification as the violation of constitution, which may grant President Zardari the “ineligibility” – disqualification from post as the least punishment.
