President, PM, COAS discuss drive against militancy

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Thursday evening. Later Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani also joined the meeting.
They discussed issues relating to security situation in the country and the ongoing drive against extremism and militancy.
The Chief of Army Staff also briefed the President about his recent visit to Brussels and meetings with NATO’s commanders.
The President later hosted dinner for them. The dinner was also attended by Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
