Punjab Education Board workers call off strike: minister

LAHORE: The workers of the Punjab Education Board called off a two week-long strike unconditionally, Education Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman announced Tuesday. The provincial education minister said that matriculation exams would be held according to the schedule. He said all arrested board workers would be released soon.
It may be reminded here that the Punjab Government had acquired the services of Lahore Board employees as a backup to undertake matric exams. And in this regard, more than 200 teachers and administrators had reached Lahore.
