‘Attempts being made to stoke sectarian clashes’LAHORE: The chiefs of the country’s religious and political parties feel that enemies of Pakistan and Islam are hatching a conspiracy to stoke inter-sectarian clashes in the country.

These views have been expressed by Jamaat-e-Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan, Jamiat Ulema-I-Islam-Fazal chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Markazi Jamiat Alhe Hadith leader Professor Sajid Mir, JUI President Sahibzada Abu Al-Khair Zubair, JUI Amir Maulana Sami ul Haq, Islami Tehrik chief Allama Sajid Naqvi, JUI Senior Amir Pir Abdul Rahim Naqshbandi and JUI-F Secretary General Abdul Ghafoor Hyedri in a joint statement released today (Monday).

Condemning the firing incidents on 12th Rab ul Awwal processions, they described it as a plot to start inter-sectarian clashes in the country.

The joint statement called on people to foil the enemies’ designs.
