Judicial Commission to appoint judges in top judiciary: CRC

ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Constitutional Reforms Committee (CRC), Senator Raza Rabbani, has said that a Judicial Commission headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan will appoint judges in the superior judiciary. Briefing the media in Islamabad today (Tuesday), Rabbani said the senior most judge of the apex court will be elevated as the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The CRC chairman said that two senior SC judges, federal law minister, attorney general, senior lawyer nominated by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) will be the members of judicial commission.
About appointment of judges in the Federal Shariah Court, he said Chief Justice FSC and the senior most judge will also be part of the commission.
