Justice Azmat declines to hear case on Zardari’s dual office

LAHORE: Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed of the Lahore High Court Tuesday declined to hear a case filed against Asif Ali Zardari’s dual office. Justice Saeed told the bench he can not hear case as he had been a prosecutor in a case against Zardari in the past.
Consequently, the Lahore High Court put off the hearing till March 15.
The court’s full bench hearing the case will now have to be reconstituted.
The petition against President Zardari’s holding dual office as President of Pakistan and Co-Chairperson of PPP had been filed by Advocate A K Dogar.
