Pindi fire death toll rises to 6

RAWALPINDI: At least six female students died and six others were injured on Monday after a fire broke out at National Foundation Girls Hostel located in Saddar area of Rawalpindi. According to Rescue 1122, two bodies were shifted to the District Headquarter Hospital and four were taken to the CMH Hospital.
The intensity of the fire was so high that it caused cracks in the building. The hostel was filled with the smoke, which caused deaths.
As many as 150 students were present in the hostel when the fire broke out, according to reports.
The fire brigade officials said that the fire had been brought under control, but search operation was underway.
It was not yet clear what caused the fire.
