Protestors force Islamabad admin to suspend fare notification
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad suspended the notification issued about raise in transport fare and restored old charges.
Earlier, the enraged protestors blocked Murree Road, which led to worst traffic jam.
Police used gas shells and baton-charged the protestors, but it failed to disperse them.
The aerial firing left a protestor injured, who was shifted to PIMS hospital in a critical condition. This annoyed the protestors, who started pelting stones on policemen, injuring eight of them.
Besides, the protestors also tortured some policemen and torn apart their uniforms. One bus and police vehicles were damaged by the violent protestors.
Taking notice of the incident, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani directed Interior Minister Rehman Malik to immediately submit the report.
