Train up traffic opened after 27hoursNAWABSHAH: The train service from Karachi to Lahore has been restored after the lapse of 27 hours when it was discontinued as a result of accident of freight train, Geo News reported Wednesday.

However, the work to resume of train traffic completely is underway.

According to GM Railways Saeed Akhtar, the trains feared to be delayed the most, have been dispatched from Dadu track.

The Lahore-bound Shalimar Express from Karachi was the first to move on the track, after which the train service would be re-started.

Shalimar Express, which left Karachi at 7am, left at noon. Pakistan Express, which leaves at 1430, now will set off at 8pm.

The passengers of Shah Rukn-e-Alam are facing great hardships as they have been transferred to Shalimar Express.

The troubled passengers at the Cantt station said they are not being provided any schedule by the Railways management.
