| Updated at: 1342 PST, Sunday, April 25, 2010 Director General Energy Management of Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) Muhammed Khalid told Geo News that power demand stands at 14,206 MWs to be met with production of 10,644 MWs. He said Karachi has been given 590 MWs today; but, 350 MWs would be given when Bin Qasim Power Plant is put into action in a couple of days. The DG said the two weekly holidays help save 600 to 1000 MWs and the forced load shedding came to an end owing to the government decision of markets’ closure at 8pm. Muhammed Khalid said the shortfall will come down in upcoming days when the hydal production increases. |
