SC imposes Rs 10,000 on Federation, Punjab govt in Hafiz Saeed caseISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of a petition filed against release of under surveillance chief of Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) Hafiz Mohammad Saeed for one month.

The apex court imposed fine of Rs10, 000 on federation and Punjab government for delaying the case and their non-cooperative attitude.

A full bench of Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the petition filed by the government against release of Hafiz Saeed. At the start of the hearing, the court was informed that counselor of Punjab government is busy in another case after which the hearing was adjourned temporarily. Later, the SC adjourned the hearing for a month after imposing the fine on federation and Punjab government.
