All major cities experience LS up to 8 hours
LAHORE: Power crisis in the country persists as all major cities including Lahore experience 6 to 8 hour load shedding, while smaller cities and towns suffer 16 hours of announced and unannounced load shedding.
Demand for electricity has reached to 15500 MW against the supply of 11000 MW.
PEPCO is facing crucial deficiency of hydal and thermal power generation.
Presently PEPCO’s powerhouses are entirely shut including Japan, SEPCOL, GAI, Russia, Atlas whereas Kapco has also failed to generate power according to its capacity.
To balance out the shortfall of electricity generation people have to endure extra and forced load shedding in addition to the announced power outage.
Thin water flow at Tarbela and Mangla dams have also caused electricity deficit of 5,000 MW.
